RULES & REGULATIONS

THE ONLINE EVENT RUN FOR YOK DON ELEPHANTS 2025

 

I. PURPOSE

• To continue the "Run for Elephants" event from 2022 to 2024, make the virtual challenge "Run for Yok Don Elephants" into an annual event.
• To raise community awareness about the annual World Elephant Day on August 12th.
• To promote Yok Don tourism activities to a wider audience, especially the running community.

The Environmental Education and Services Center - Yok Don National Park and Animals Asia, in partnership with the Turtle Runners running group, are organizing THE ONLINE EVENT RUN FOR YOK DON ELEPHANTS 2025 (hereinafter referred to as the "Challenge").

II. ONLINE RUN DETAILS

1. Theme: "Run for Yok Don Elephants: Your steps, elephants' future".

2. Participants:

Open to all runners.

3. Number of Participants:

Unlimited.

4. Timeline:

• Distance Completion Challenge:
  Registration and result tracking period: From 00:00 on August 8, 2025, to 23:59 on August 18, 2025 (Timezone: GMT+7).
• Mini-games:
  Tentatively scheduled for August 9 and August 12.
• T-shirt Giveaway Livestream:
  Tentatively scheduled for August 20, 2025.
• Result Announcement:
  Tentatively scheduled for August 25, 2025.

5. Distance:

• Format: Running/walking with results recorded via a mobile application or any smartwatch that can sync with the Strava platform.
• Register for an account and download the application at strava.com. You can find instructions on how to sync your results at the following link: https://irace.vn/cach-dong-bo-du-lieu-len-strava-tu-cac-thiet-bi-va-phan-mem-cua-hang-khac/.
• Distances: You must complete one of the following distances in a single run: 1.28 km;
  12.8 km (accepted variance: +/-100m).

6. Location:

• Participant can choose an outdoor location that suits their fitness level and are encouraged to run where they live and work.
• You must ensure your own safety and the safety of others when performing activities related to the challenge.

7. Registration Fee:

Free of charge.

III. PARTICIPATION RULES:

1. Registration and Result-tracking:

- Distance Completion Challenge:

• Participant must fill out the online Google Form provided by the organizers at forms.gle/uT4Q5kssFJA9HAr16. The registration period is from 00:00 on August 8, 2025, to 23:59 on August 18, 2025. Any registrations submitted before or after this period will be considered invalid.
• Logging in with an email is mandatory. Each account can only participate once and cannot edit the submission.

- Mini-games and T-shirt Giveaway Livestream: 

• Participants can join on the Yok Don Tourism fan page at fb.com/yokdontour.

 

2. Use of Personal Information:

• By registering, participants agree to allow The Organizers to use the information provided (excluding email, phone number, and address) for promotional purposes related to the challenge.
• Mini-game participants also consent to The Organizers using their Facebook address, name, and profile picture for organizational purposes.
• Winners must provide their address and phone number to receive prizes.

3. Contact and Prize Claim Deadline:

- Distance Completion Challenge: 

• The Organizers will contact winners via email to confirm information (address, T-shirt size).
  If there is no response via email, The Organizers will make a phone call (for the Vietnamese phone number only). 
• If a winner does not respond via either email or phone within 5 days of the result announcement, the prize will be forfeited.

 

- Mini-games:

• The Organizers will contact winners directly via the Yok Don Tourism Fanpage.
• Participant are requested to provide complete information to receive their prize. 
• Participant who do not respond within 5 days will be deemed to have forfeited their prize.

4. Activity Requirements:

The running tracklog used for registration in the Challenge and mini-games must meet the following conditions:

• Must be set to public.
• Must be recorded within the valid time frame specified in the event's rules.
  
   

5. Finding Your Strava ID:

• To find your Strava ID, you need to access the Strava website on a computer and view your profile URL. The Strava ID is a series of numbers displayed at the end of your profile URL.
  You cannot find this ID on the mobile app.
• An individual's Strava ID is the sequence of numbers immediately following "strava.com/athletes/". For example, if your Strava profile URL is "strava.com/athletes/abcdefgh", your Strava ID is "abcdefgh". Your lucky draw number will be the last 5 digits of your Strava ID (in the example, this would be "defgh").

6. Prize Shipping:

• The Organizers will only ship prizes to addresses within Vietnam.
• Winners residing abroad must arrange for a relative or friend in Vietnam to receive the prize on their behalf. Alternatively, upon the winner's request, the prize can be stored at Yok Don National Park until the end of 2026. If the winner fails to arrange for prize collection as stipulated by this deadline, the prize will be used as a souvenir for tourists participating in the elephant experience tour at Yok Don National Park.

7. Ranking Tie-breaker:

• In the event of a tie, the ranking will be determined by the earlier submission time of the registration form as automatically recorded by Google Forms, or the earlier participation time in the mini-game.
• The participant who finishes earlier will be ranked higher.

8. Complaint Regulations:

• This is a non-profit run aimed at encouraging meaningful actions to protect the elephants in Vietnam in general, and in Yok Don in particular. Therefore, we encourage everyone to participate in a spirit of fun and fair play.
• Any participant found cheating with clear evidence will have their results nullified.

IV. AWARDS:

A total of 128 running T-shirts will be awarded through two categories: distance completion and a lucky draw, along with mini-games and a T-shirt giveaway livestream.

1. Distance Completion Award (68 T-shirts)

68 T-shirts will be awarded to Participants who complete a registered distance during the event period and whose last 5 digits of their Strava ID have the smallest difference from the special prize result of the Northern Vietnam Lottery announced on August 19, 2025.

2. Mini-game and Livestream Awards (60 T-shirts)

60 T-shirts are reserved for participants of the mini-games and Livestream awards.

These 02 mini-games are separate from the Distance Completion challenge, and everyone is eligible to participate. There is 01 t-shirt giveaway livestream session will be held on the Yok Don Tourism fan page at fb.com/yokdontour. Details of each mini-game's rules will be announced at the time of the game.

Mini-game 1:

• Total prizes: 10 T-shirts.
• Tentative date: August 9, 2025.
• Format: Participant must share a picture of their own tracklog (from their participation in The Online Event Run For Yok Don Elephants 2025) in the comment section of the mini-game post on the Yok Don Tourism fan page, along with a lucky number from 000 to 999.

Mini-game 2:

• Total prizes: 20 T-shirts.
• Tentative dates: August 12-13, 2025.
• Format: Participant must share a picture of their own tracklog (from their participation in The Online Event Run For Yok Don Elephants 2025) in the comment section of the mini-game post on the Yok Don Tourism fan page, the tracklog must be one of the 2 distances specified in the challenge: 1.28km, 12.8km, with a +/-100m variance being acceptable.
• The winner will be the participant whose valid comment receives the most reactions.

Lucky Draw Livestream: - Total prizes: 30 T-shirts.

• Tentative date: August 20, 2025.
• Format: The Organizers will host a live lucky draw for all participants who have validly registered for the Distance Completion Challenge.
