Yok Don welcomed the delegation of the training program "Strengthening capacity, reducing the risk of money laundering from illegal wildlife trade."
On June 16, 2023, more than 40 delegates from banks, Fintech companies with headquarters in Ho Chi Minh City and branches of banks in Dak Lak province, and officers of Anti-Money Laundering, Trade Finance Trade, Corporate Customer Relations, Domestic and International Payments visited Yok Don National Park; This is the content of the training program combined with field visits on "Strengthening capacity, reducing the risk of money laundering from illegal wildlife trade" in Buon Ma Thuot city, Dak Lak province. The Vietnam Bankers Association organizes the program in collaboration with the Endangered Wildlife Project, funded by the United States Agency for International Development (USAID); the project owner is the Management Board of Forestry Projects (MBFP), Organized by the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development (MARD) and the World Wide Fund for Nature (WWF).
The delegation learned about forest protection and the efforts of the rangers of Yok Don National Park in preventing illegal forest product exploitation and hunting; Visit Yok Don's Elephant-friendly tourism model, and learn more about the dangers elephants face when they become valuable commodities on the illegal market, and the positive changes in the following elephants when joining the new model pioneered by Yok Don.
